Sure Pain KIller

I am a person who gets migraine all the time. It has been said that migraine has triggers - meaning situations that can start the onset of a terrible migraine. I don't know in particular what my trigger is. All I know is that when I am upset and tired, I get headaches. Terrible ones! I can't see straight once I have an attack. I have a stash of pain reliever in my purse all the time, just in case. D2 has her own over-the-counter stash of pain relievers too for her back pain.

The other day, D1(the doctor) called and said she'd be quite late in coming home. She said she had to attend a medical product launch - whatever that means. She indeed came home late that night and I was surprised to when she came by my bedroom and gave me a big plastic bag of medicine samples. "Mom" she said, "here's your stash of pain reliever. You don't have to buy Tramadol for a while", D1 said cheerfully. The product launch was all about Tramadol and D1 got me samples, lots of them.

What is Tramadol? The drug is a non-narcotic pain-reliever. It works on the pain receptors of the brain blocking out pain effectively. The drug works on any type of pain but it is rather more geared on relieving pain caused by osteoarthritis and any other chronic pain. My best friend is also taking Tramadol as there are days that her back acts up. She fell on her back a year ago and that sort of jarred her 4th and 5th cervical vertebrae. She takes Tramadol too as it is recommended to alleviate moderate to severe pain of any cause. I take tramadol hcl 50mg tab and I can attest that my headache is gone in less than 30 minutes. Great huh?!

A Beautiful Story

A beautiful story..... makes you understand that things happen for a reason.

The brand new pastor and his wife, newly assigned
to their first ministry, to reopen a church
in suburban Brooklyn , arrived in early October
excited about their opportunities When they saw
their church, it was very run down and needed
much work. They set a goal to have everything
done in time to have their first service
on Christmas Eve.

They worked hard, repairing pews, plastering walls,
painting, etc, and on December 18
were ahead of schedule and just about finished.
On December 19 a terrible tempest - a driving
rainstorm hit the area and lasted for two days.
On the 21st, the pastor went over to the church.
His heart sank when he saw that the roof had
leaked, causing a large area of plaster about
20 feet by 8 feet to fall off the front wall of the
sanctuary just behind the pulpit, beginning about
head high.

The pastor cleaned up the mess on the floor,
and not knowing what else to do but postpone
the Christmas Eve service, headed home..

On the way he noticed that a local business was
having a flea market type sale for charity so he
stopped in. One of the items was a beautiful,
handmade, ivory colored, crocheted tablecloth
with exquisite work, fine colors and a Cross
embroidered right in the center. It was just
the right size to cover up the hole in the front
wall. He bought it and headed back to the church.

By this time it had started to snow. An older
woman running from the opposite direction was
trying to catch the bus.. She missed it. The pastor
invited her to wait in the warm church for
the next bus 45 minutes later..

She sat in a pew and paid no attention to the pastor
while he got a ladder, hangers, etc., to put
up the tablecloth as a wall tapestry... The pastor
could hardly believe how beautiful it looked and
it covered up the entire problem area..

Then he noticed the woman walking down the center
aisle. Her face was like a sheet.. 'Pastor,'
she asked, 'where did you get that tablecloth?'
The pastor explained. The woman asked him to check
the lower right corner to see if the initials, EBG were crocheted into
it there. They were. These were the initials of the woman, and she had
made this tablecloth 35 years before, in Austria

The woman could hardly believe it as the pastor
told how he had just gotten the Tablecloth. The
woman explained that before the war she and
her husband were well-to-do people in Austria .

When the Nazis came, she was forced to leave.
Her husband was going to follow her the next week..
He was captured, sent to prison and never saw her
husband or her home again.

The pastor wanted to give her the tablecloth;
but she made the pastor keep it for the church.
The pastor insisted on driving her home, that
was the least he could do.. She lived on the other
side of Staten Island and was only in Brooklyn
for the day for a housecleaning job.

What a wonderful service they had on Christmas
Eve. The church was almost full.. The music and the
spirit were great. At the end of the service, the
pastor and his wife greeted everyone at the door
and many said that they would return.

One older man, whom the pastor recognized
from the neighborhood continued to sit in one of the
pews and stare, and the pastor wondered why he
wasn't leaving.

The man asked him where he got the tablecloth on
the front wall because it was identical to one
that his wife had made years ago when
they lived in Austria before the war and how
could there be two tablecloths so much alike.

He told the pastor how the Nazis came, how he
forced his wife to flee for her safety and he was
supposed to follow her, but he was arrested and
put in a prison.. He never saw his wife or his home
again all the 35 years in between.

The pastor asked him if he would allow him to
take him for a little ride. They drove to Staten
Island and to the same house where the pastor
had taken the woman three days earlier.

He helped the man climb the three flights of
stairs to the woman's apartment, knocked on
the door and he saw the greatest Christmas
reunion he could ever imagine.

True Story - submitted by Pastor Rob Reid
Who says God does not work in mysterious ways.
I asked the Lord to bless you as I prayed for
you today, to guide you and protect you as you go
along your way. His love is always with you, His
promises are true, and when we give Him all our
cares you know He will see us through.

So when the road you're traveling on seems
difficult at best.. Just remember I'm here
praying and God will do the rest. Pass this on
to those you want God to bless and don't forget
to send it back to the one who asked God to bless
you first.

When there is nothing left but God, that is when
you find out that God is all you need.

Torrent Files

My kids are the download Mafia this side of the world. They download everything: movies, TV series, Anime, music, games and all other forms of entertainment that are downloadable. They seem to know which site offers free downloads and which site offers fast download. The big word in downloading today is the word torrent. I have no idea what a torrent is and I wrongly assumed that it is a site. Little did I know that it has something to do with a download software. If you ask me if I truly understand the software, I can sincerely say that the software gives you the benefit of downloading complete files of movies, games et al, has a simple interface and a powerful search engine and updated torrent files searched from thousands of sites with torrent files.

Yoyo Shop: Fill My Christmas Stockings!

I spent the weekend taking out the boxes of last year's Christmas decors from the storage under the stairs that leads to the basement. I took out 2 big plastic boxes filled with Christmas ornaments and Christmas stockings. It's that time of the year again. Time to think of things and stuff to fill up the Christmas stockings for gifts. D2 wants to buy dozens of yoyos to put in the stockings. She said the kids will surely enjoy receiving one to play with. A yoyo would surely do as a Christmas stocking filler. As I think about it, I am now more inclined to agree with D2 and buy dozens of yoyos for the stockings.

Car Loan

We definitely need an additional car. D4 and D3 are finding it hard coordination their schedule with D1 regarding carpooling. D4 and 3 are thinking of getting a car for them and they are currently looking out for the best Auto Loans they could find. There is no need to buy a spanking brand new car. A second hand car will do. Anyone know of one for sale?

New Recipes at Food Connect

My family and I love to eat! It used to be that I don't know squat about cooking but having kids pushed me to learn how to cook. There was no one to teach me how to cook so I bought recipe books. I remember staying up late at night experimenting on dishes and cakes. Why late at night? It was the only free time I had then.

I still buy recipe books on occasions but that seemed eons ago. Today, the advent of the internet brings any conceivable recipe at the tip of my fingers. I was browsing for new ways to cook chicken and veggie and I bumped into FoodConnect. This site is great. Readers get to submit their signature recipes to share with others. What's great about this site is that detailed step by step instructions on how to cook the dish are written down including ingredients, serving size and nutritional facts such as: calories, fat, cholesterol, sodium and carbohydrates. Great huh?! What is more amazing though is that you can click on a link to change the serving size and the recipe would automatically adjust to the new serving size.

Chicken and Herbed Dumpling

Here's a picture of recipe I tried and it was delish!
