Senior Chat Rooms for my Friends

I was at the hospital the other day visiting my friend. She was confined due to a foot infection that would not go away. She is diabetic and is on insulin twice daily. The little scratch in her big toe grew out to be a monster of an infection. She had no recourse but to had it surgically treated.

A month ago, another close friend sent me an SMS message- one word- HELP!. I immediately dropped what I was doing and ran to her house as it was only a few houses down my street. I found her sprawled on the bathroom floor - paralyzed with pain. I then called my daughter, the doctor, and asked her to send an ambulance for my friend. Top cut a long story short, the fall compressed a vertebra and she is now on a body brace.

Two of my closest friends - immobile and bored to death by their predicament. We've been praying together for their speedy recovery and so far they are doing well. To alleviate boredom I suggested that they go online to browse and surf. I even joked that they should try joining Senior Chat Rooms. They were not against the thought of chat rooms, but the senior bit got into them. Hahaha. I know they're a still more than a decade away from the bracket but seriously, they have more in common with the seniors than they would want to admit. They are educated, decent, and have time on their hands to chat about anything under the sun. Go Seniors!

More Than Wonderful

One of my favorite Gospel singers is Sandi Patti. I have been an ardent fan of hers for the past 20 or so years. The song More Than Wonderful which she sang with Larnelle Harris is one of my favorite songs of hers. I've sung this song in duet with one of my daughters many times over. How I wish I could share the video of that duet. Alas, I need to find the 20 year old VHS tape first. Meanwhile watch Sandi's and Larnelle's edition. I am sure you will be blessed.

The Whole Truth

An interesting read. This is from Australia's Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks..

Separately, Kevin angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. '

'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'

'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'

'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

May we all find the courage to start speaking and voicing the same truths.

The Best Silver Cutlery

I was cleaning one of the kitchen cabinets when I noticed an upholstered bag hidden in between shelves. It can't be! Is it really the long-lost silver cutlery set given by my dear-departed father? That set was given to me as a house-warming gift some 24 years ago. I last used the set about 10 years ago and deemed it lost (or stolen) when I wanted to use it at daughter #1's graduation dinner. So! I'ts not lost after all. Just misplaced. My silver is quite good quality wise but how I wish my set is an Arthur Price.

Arthur Price of England cutlery is one of the finest. Each piece has perfect poise, balance and weight. All pieces are handcrafted from three top materials: stainless steel, silver plate and the premium sterling silver. The company boasts of a wide array of design and materials for silver cutlery. There's the very simple Baguette, Britannia to the ornate Kings and Ritz all of 16 designs. It is imperative to keep all silver cutlery in cutlery cabinets for protection. To complement the each set are what you call hostess accessories like cake knife, cake lifter, butter knife, cheese knife, steak and tea knives and more. Handmade and hallmarked by gifted silversmiths, who would not love to have a set?

The Truth about Holodomor

What is holodomor? I encountered the word and I became curious. Holodomor is a Ukrainian word which literally means death by starvation. The great famine of 1932-33 in the Ukraine is a subject less known in history. It is one of the greatest catastrophes to hit Ukraine in modern history where an estimated 6 t0 8 million people from Central Russia,Kazhastan, Ukraine and North Caucasus died of starvation at peacetime. What happened? Russia's Joseph Stalin in his quest for industrialization and collectivization ordered the seizure of all grains from Soviet Republic's farmers and peasants. There is a school of thought that the Holodomor or more rightly, the Golodomor of 1932-33 was a genocidal famine to obliterate Ukraine. Golodomor was changed to Holodomor to make it sound as "holocaust". This is the brainchild of Ukraine's president Viktor Yuschenko in his bid to push the issue worldwide. European scholars and politicians agree that the great famine of 1932-33 was just an ineffective economic policy of the Communist under Josepg Stalin. The European Parliament has ruled in October 2008 that the Golodomor or 1932-33 was a crime cruelly planned by Stalin and his cohorts in order to force through the Soviet Union's policy of collectivization of agriculture. The European Parliament adopted a resolution that recognized Holodomor as a crime against humanity.

Take Control

Back in the 70's and well into the 90's CAD or computer aided design was unheard of. Architectural drawings and plans were done manually. Being an architect I had an array of drafting pens, pencils, triangles, T-square, scale and oh yes, drafting table, to be able to do my craft. The work was long and tedious. There were times that I draft for hours on end. My hands were almost always stiff. I had trouble folding my hands which was a problem for I play the piano at the church service on Sundays. At first the stiffness were negligible but as I grew older, I find that the stiffness became painful. One day the pain drove me to see a doctor. A series of tests were done and I was diagnosed to be on the onset of rheumatoid arthritis.

What is RA? RA is an autoimmune disease that causes chronic inflammation of the joints. While rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic illness, patients may experience long periods without symptoms and lead a fairly normal life. I take Celebrex on a regular basis and it helps manage RA. I keep hands mobile and active and these do eliminate the stiffness. I am glad that there are more drugs available for the disease now. More women are affected by RA and untreated, these afflicted women would not even be able to do housework. If I were to do an ad for RA I would probably say Don't let RA rule you. Take control of this highly manageable disease. See your doctor today.

A Brillian Discussion

An Atheist Professor of Philosophy was speaking to his Class on the Problem Science has with GOD , the ALMIGHTY. He asked one of his New Christian Students to stand and . . .

Professor : You are a Christian, aren't you, son ?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor : So, you Believe in GOD ?
Student : Absolutely, sir.
Professor : Is GOD Good ?
Student : Sure.
Professor : Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL ?
Student : Yes.
Professor : My Brother died of Cancer even though he Prayed to GOD to Heal him.
Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill.
But
GOD didn't. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?

(Student was silent )

Professor : You can't answer, can you ? Let's start again, Young Fella. Is GOD Good?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Is Satan good ?
Student : No.
Professor : Where does Satan come from ?
Student : From . . . GOD . . .
Professor : That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this World?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Evil is everywhere, isn't it ? And GOD did make everything. Correct?
Student : Yes.
Professor : So who created evil ?

(Student did not answer)

Professor : Is there Sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness?
All these terrible things exist in the World, don't they?

Student :
Yes, sir.
Professor : So, who Created them ?

(Student had no answer)

Professor : Science says you have 5 Senses you use to Identify and Observe the World around you.
Tell me, son . . . Have you ever Seen
GOD?
Student :
No, sir.
Professor : Tell us if you have ever Heard your GOD?
Student : No , sir.
Professor : Have you ever Felt your GOD , Tasted your GOD , Smelt your GOD ?
Have you ever had any Sensory Perception of GOD for that matter?
Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Professor : Yet you still Believe in HIM?
Student : Yes.
Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol,
Science says your
GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student : Nothing. I only have my Faith.
Professor : Yes, Faith. And that is the Problem Science has.

Student : Professor, is there such a thing as Heat?
Professor : Yes.
Student : And is there such a thing as Cold?
Professor : Yes.
Student : No, sir. There isn't.

(The Lecture Theatre became very quiet with this turn of events )

Student : Sir, you can have Lots of Heat, even More Heat, Superheat, Mega Heat, White Heat, a Little Heat or No Heat.
But we don't have anything called Cold.
We can hit 458 Degrees below Zero which is No Heat, but we can't go any further after that.
There is no such thing as Cold.
Cold is only a Word we use to describe the Absence of Heat.
We cannot Measure Cold.
Heat is Energy.
Cold is Not the Opposite of Heat, sir, just the Absence of it.

(There was Pin-Drop Silence in the Lecture Theatre )

Student : What about Darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as Darkness?
Professor : Yes. What is Night if there isn't Darkness?
Student : You're wrong again, sir.
Darkness is the Absence of Something
You can have Low Light, Normal Light, Bright Light, Flashing Light . . .
But if you have No Light constantly, you have nothing and its called Darkness, isn't it?
In reality, Darkness isn't.
If it is, you would be able to make Darkness Darker, wouldn't you?
Professor :
So what is the point you are making, Young Man ?
Student : Sir, my point is your Philosophical Premise is flawed.
Professor : Flawed ? Can you explain how?
Student : Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality.
You argue there is Life and then there is Death, a Good GOD and a Bad GOD.
You are viewing the Concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure.
Sir, Science can't even explain a Thought.
It uses Electricity and Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one.
To view Death as the Opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that
Death cannot exist as a Substantive Thing.
Death is Not the Opposite of Life: just the Absence of it
Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your Students that they evolved from a Monkey?

Professor : If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process, yes, of course, I do.
Student : Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shook his head with a Smile, beginning to realize where the Argument was going )

Student : Since no one has ever observed the Process of Evolution at work and
Cannot even prove that this Process is an On-Going Endeavor,
Are you not teaching your Opinion, sir?
Are you not a Scientist but a Preacher?

(The Class was in Uproar )

Student : Is there anyone in the Class who has ever seen the Professor's Brain?

(The Class broke out into Laughter )

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's Brain, Felt it, touched or Smelt it? . . .
No one appears to have done so.
So, according to the Established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol,
Science says that You have No Brain, sir.
With all due respect, sir, how do we then Trust your Lectures, sir?

(The Room was Silent. The Professor stared at the Student, his face unfathomable)

Professor : I guess you'll have to take them on Faith, son.
Student : That is it sir . . . Exactly !
The Link between Man & GOD is FAITH.
That is all that Keeps Things Alive and Moving.

NB:
That student was Albert Einstein.

Lower Rates

Are you looking for a way to lower your long distance bills? Are you one of those who get frustrated with the ridiculously high prices of domestic and international phone calls?

My brother and his family lives in New Jersey while my family and I stay in Manila. We keep tab of each other through phone calls. Our exorbitant phone bills made him search for a phone company that offers the lowest international rates. YupeePhone has an extremely low international calls with a bonus of 120 every month for calls to 54 countries for all customers. Great deal. I guess my brother would get this provider.

He Brings Treasures to the Righteous

Today's Scripture

"A good man leaves an inheritance [of moral stability and goodness] to his children’s children, and the wealth of the sinner [finds its way eventually] into the hands of the righteous, for whom it was laid up" (Proverbs 13:22, AMP).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Did you know there are resources and blessings laid up for the righteous? There are funds that will eventually be transferred over into the hands of the people who will use them for God’s purposes. In the Scripture God is called the Lord of the Sabaoth. That means He is "the God who puts His armor on and goes to war against those who hold His treasure from His purposes." Just imagine God getting His armor on and going into the forces of darkness and saying, "Okay. I’ll take those funds. I need them for my children. I’ll take these businesses, these ideas, these contracts. They have My children’s names on them."

Friends, God is fighting your battles for you. He has immeasurable favor that He is going to transfer into the hands of the righteous. The key is to make sure you’re in the righteous group. Make sure you are honoring God with your life and keeping your heart pure. Let go of any weights or any sins that are holding you back. As long as you stay in faith and live righteously before Him, God has promised abundance, promotion, and funds that already have your name on them!

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, thank You for fighting my battles on my behalf. I commit all my plans to You and surrender every area of my life to Your purposes. Thank You for Your favor and blessing on me today and always. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Missed!

Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.
Author Unknown

I was driving at about 40 KPH one night when from out of nowhere a man suddenly ran in front of me to cross the street. I tensed, hit the brake and was quite positive I hit the man. I did not hit the man but all the stuff inside the car were forced in front. The insipid man was shocked himself as he stood by the side of the road. I rolled down my window and yelled "What the heck were you thinking?"

Moral:It's good that I have learned not to drive ever so fast even on an open road. Observe the speed limit. I have always told my kids that there might be nothing wrong with the way they drive but there are other drivers and pedestrians to consider. It is good to learn the proper way to drive. There are plenty of driving schools that offer such in their program. If you are in the vicinity of Sydney and Brisbane and want to learn defensive driving try driving schools in Sydney for great deals in driving lessons.

About Plastic Surgery

A close friend of mine asked me if the Bible has anything to say about a Christian having plastic or cosmetic surgery. That made me think and actually research on the question. I found nothing in the Bible indicating that plastic surgery is wrong. But I do believe that there are several things that one needs to consider before deciding whether or not to have a procedure than for the plastic or cosmetic surgery is a major operation. There are several simple questions that should be addresses before a decision is made. Firstly, one had to decide what procedure one wants done for oneself or for a family member. Secondly, who would do the operation? Are you willing to go wherever it is just to ensure the best possible surgeon for you? Do you really know what cosmetic surgery means? If you have other problems or questions related to cosmetic surgery, check out Cosmetic Surgery Forum. The forum has several topic and points of discussions that could help answer questions about plastic and cosmetic surgery.

101 Religious Sects

I have always been interested in different faiths and religions. I am not one to judge which religion is true or not for I believe that we all worship one God with different names. I have read extensively on Catholicism, Evangelical Christianity and most of its better-known sects, Islam, some teachings of Buddhism, Judaism and other churches that broke-away from the Catholicism and are more or less under general Christianity. I have not read up on Hinduism yet. One of these days, I will.

There are about 2.1 billion Christians in the world and these encompass the different major and minor religions such as Catholicism, Protestant Eastern Orthodox, Evangelicals, LDS, Pentecostal, Jehovah's Witness, Anglicans, Quakers, AICs, and more.

One sect of Christianity that has intrigued me for quite sometime now is the Church of the Latter Day Saint. I know the beginnings and some of the teachings of the church. I am even a fan of two of its most famous members, Donny and Marie Osmond. The thing is I've not had the benefit of actually discussing the LDS teachings and ways with a bonifide LDS member. I would like to discuss why the church split. Anyway, I think I should join a Free LDS Chat. I believe I could meet and chat with people of the same interest as I am.
