To cut a very long story short, my eldest daughter is a single parent. Not that it bothers her or me or us, for that matter. But sometimes, her 6-year old son asks questions and at times she is stymied for answers. There are just not enough single parents she hangs out with to get compare notes. Each single parent has a different story to tell and if you don't know one, then there's no way for you to broaden your resources.
I told my daughter that it would do her good to join a single parent chat room. Members of the chat room are international and therefore more she would have a greater range of insight coming from single parents from different countries. I have a blogger friend who is also a single mom, who joined one such chat room. She told me that she has a network of single and non-single moms and dads that chats with on a regular basis.
