My Dream Cars

My son's former high school classmates dropped by out house one late night. One of them just had a new car and he picked up his high school buddies for a spin. The car, a BMW, was an 18th birthday gift from his dad. My son said the Beemer was all high-tech and push button which led me to search on BMW videos to know more about such cars. I happened on a site that "tells it all". Pick a BMW model and a video clip of the said card model would pop up completer with detailed specifications. New Furniture and Fixtures

My bathroom needs remodeling. The tiles are old and chipped. The water closet vintage and the bathroom vanities needs a total "facelift". I have just finished reading The Diary of Anne Frank for the nth time. I love the book so much as it dwells on something positive in a time where it is highly excusable to feel negative. Wheelchair Chats

One of my daughters, the dentist, together with a handful of pediatric dentists, held a one-day free clinic at an Orthopedic Hospital. There were a lot of kids and teens confined at the hospital that needed free dental assessment and tooth extraction. I was surprised to find out that there are actually about 200 kids of varying ages that are living in the hospital compound. These kids are not actually patients but are handicapped kids taken in by the hospital and placed in the housing facilities. The kids come from all over the Philippines and they are there for the duration of their lower and upper school education. There are a handful of adults too who chose to stay after their high school education. Computer education is part of the high school curriculum and the upper school kids and the adult supervisors are allowed to go online for a few hours a week. I guess joining a handicapped chat room would be beneficial to these kids for they could all share their "wheelchair" experiences. The site is 100% free to join and registration is easy. When You Feel Worried

This article is a re-post from my other blog.

My cervical spondylosis has been acting up since last week. The pain was minimal at first but now the pain is quietly but deliberately growing in strength in spite of the medication. Why? I am really not stress-free. Although my doctor gives me anti-anxiety pills, the stress and problems are still there - not resolved. I just want to be stress-free but for that to happen I have to resolve my problems first which I can't do for it involves a lot of factors that are beyond my control. There are two plausible solutions though - increase my medication or win the lotto.

For the meantime, I ask my readers to pray for me. Prayers are "magical" and do wonders. I just have to embrace I Peter 5:7 - Let Him have all your worries and cares, for He is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.

Tampered Locks!

Being a weekend I fetched my son from his apartment with my two girlfriends in tow. As I parked the car in front of his apartment, out came my son dressed only in shorts. I was about to reprimand him that we're running late and would still be running more late as he was not yet dressed and packed, when he blurted

"Mom!, I have something to tell you."

As always that sentence never fails to stop my heart from beating. That sentence has always been the prelude to an almost-always disastrous news.

"What is it?" I asked calmly.

Well, the news was bad news but not in a life-altering way. It seemed that my son and one of his apartment mates came in late Wednesday after their volleyball training. He said he remembered closing the self-locking gate as he proceeded inside the house. The following morning his mountain bike parked inside the carport was gone. Someone picked the lock of the carport gate!

The same thing happened to a friend of mine. Her main door was picked and her house was burglarized. After the incident she called in a Kansas City Locksmith to check all her outside door locks and knobs. The locksmith found some tampering on some door locks and suggested to my friend to buy new ones. He wants to make up the difference and put you further ahead than you ever thought possible. One time in the Old Testament, God simply multiplied the sound of four men’s footsteps and caused them to sound like a mighty army. When their enemies heard them, they took off running. There were thousands of enemy troops running for their lives, scared to death, thinking they were being attacked by a massive army when in fact it was just four people! What happened? God made up the difference.

Friend, God can make you seem bigger than you really are. He can make you look more powerful. He knows how to multiply your influence, multiply your strength, your talent and your income. You don’t have to figure it all out; all you have to do is put your trust in Him. If you will release your faith for a supernatural year and wake up every day expecting God’s far and beyond favor, then you’re going to see God show up and make the difference in every area of your life!

Town Fiesta

The people of my adoptive town breathe and live for the annual town fiesta. There are a lot of parades and processions ongoing during the two-day celebration. I am not an advocate of fiestas as I see it as a total waste of money that could be used to help the real needy. Anyway, that's a blog topic of another day. Lost Keys

My eldest child was about 20 months old when she unknowingly locked-in my newborn baby in my bedroom. The key was nowhere to be found. I think it was inside the bedroom itself. My hubby was not at home. It was only me and my two baby girls: one locked inside the bedroom, the other one with me outside the locked the bedroom asking me why I was crying.
